6th Ghetto Biennale: Haitian Revolution and Beyond

Project proposal:

In recent years I've been doing some research and practice about Haitian revolution and how
could we reenact it in the present (in art context and beyond).

I'd like to spin ideas with artists who are also Vodun practitioners. They could make
propositions for the future (and present) based on marronage, liberation and healing practices,
ways of living together, and conceptions of art that go beyond western logic.

We will also discuss forms of political, economic and social organizing based on indigenous
knowledges and practiced for centuries in response to colonialism/coloniality.

Together with Vodun priest, and in collab with local artists, I'd like to create a performance/ritual that deals with Haitian revolution, current struggles, decolonial love, non-binary ways of perceiving the world, etc.
